Hiring UGC creators in Dubai
What to look for
UGC is judged on the video, not on followers, because it runs on your ad account instead of theirs. Ask for a portfolio of past ads in your category and watch the first two seconds: the hook decides whether anyone keeps watching. Check light, sound and pacing, whether the creator can deliver several hooks and raw files, and whether they can record in Arabic as well as English.
Typical formats
Typical briefs are a product demo, an unboxing, a talking-head review, a before and after, and several hooks for the same video so you can test them. Agree the number of edits, the aspect ratios (9:16 for Reels and TikTok, 4:5 or 1:1 for feeds), the file delivery and, above all, the paid-usage terms: where you may run the video and for how many months.
Check the UAE Advertiser Permit
- Since 1 February 2026, anyone creating advertising content from inside the UAE needs a UAE Advertiser Permit from the National Media Authority (NMA), paid or unpaid. (Gulf News, 1 Feb 2026)
- Gifted products, services and other non-cash benefits count as payment, so barter deals and hosted visits count too. (NMA service card)
- Holders must show their permit number on their accounts, and lawyers advise brands to ask for it before paying. (The National, 30 Jul 2025, Pinsent Masons)
- Any payment or commercial relationship must be clearly disclosed (Executive Regulations, Art. 33(7)). No hashtag is named: clearly disclose, for example "Ad" or "إعلان" plus the platform's paid-partnership label. (NMA legislation)
- Advertising without a permit: a written warning, then AED 20,000, then AED 50,000 (Cabinet Resolution 42/2025, which applies in free zones too). (NMA legislation)
- Permit numbers on pages here are self-declared by the creator. We found no public NMA lookup, so ask for the number and write it into your contract. (NMA services, Pinsent Masons)
- Since 1 February 2026, anyone creating advertising content from inside the UAE needs a UAE Advertiser Permit, paid or unpaid. Confirm with the NMA whether that covers UGC that is not posted on the creator's own account, and ask UGC creators for their permit number. (Gulf News, 1 Feb 2026)

FAQ
UGC creators in Dubai:questions businesses ask
How much does a UGC video cost in the UAE?
About AED 700-1,500 for a simple video and AED 1,500-3,500 for an ad-ready one (Yamammi). Signed contracts in one agency's report were a flat AED 800 across 79 contracts. Paid-ad usage rights usually add 30-50% (Yamammi) or 1.5-2x (Tikit). These are indicative ranges, not quotes: every creator here sets their own price per video.
What is the difference between UGC and an influencer post?
A UGC video is made for your own ads and channels and delivered as a file. It is not posted on the creator's account, so you pay for the video and the right to use it, not for the creator's reach. An influencer post goes out to the creator's own followers.
How long can we use a UGC video in our ads?
For as long as the agreement says. Agree the usage period in months, the channels (Meta, TikTok, YouTube, your website) and whether you may edit or cut it down. Longer paid usage costs more, so settle it before you agree the price.
