This policy explains what socialmediamarketing.ae collects, why, where it is stored, and what you can ask us to do with it. It is short on purpose. If anything is unclear, email hello@socialmediamarketing.ae.

In short

The whole policy in four lines:

  • We collect what you give us: your email for the waitlist, your brand brief, or the details you put on your creator page.
  • We never sell your data and use no advertising cookies. We measure visits and look at anonymous heatmaps to improve the site.
  • A creator page is public on purpose, so only add what you are happy for anyone to see.
  • Email hello@socialmediamarketing.ae to see, correct, export or delete your data.

Who we are

socialmediamarketing.ae is operated by Machiavelli Marketing LLC, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean Machiavelli Marketing LLC. You can reach us at hello@socialmediamarketing.ae.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to run the site:

  • Waitlist sign-ups: your email address, your name if you give it, the page you signed up from, and your handle if you entered one.
  • Brand briefs from For brands: your email address, your name, your business name and the message you write.
  • Creator pages: the email address you claim your page with, and everything you add to the page, such as your handle, name, profile photo, bio, niches, area, languages, social profiles, follower numbers and other stats, services and rates, brands, links, contact details, UAE Advertiser Permit number and FAQs.
  • Profile photos: when you pick a photo, your browser crops and shrinks it on your own device, to at most 512 by 512 pixels, before anything is sent. We receive and store only that smaller copy, never the original file. Saving it this way also leaves out hidden details stored in the original, such as location data.
  • Drafts in your browser: while you build or edit your page, the draft is saved in your own browser (local storage) on your device. We do not receive it until you submit it.
  • Technical data: our hosting provider records basic request data, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the site secure and working.
  • Usage data: which pages are visited, and how visitors scroll, click and move on them (see Cookies and analytics below).

Cookies and analytics

We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. We use these tools to see how the site is used and where it can be clearer:

  • Vercel Web Analytics counts page views and visits without cookies and without identifying you.
  • Vercel Speed Insights measures how fast pages load on real devices, without cookies.
  • Microsoft Clarity shows how visitors scroll, click and move on our pages (heatmaps and session replays). It sets first-party cookies such as _clck and _clsk, and it hides what you type into form fields. Microsoft processes this data under the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
  • Your page draft is kept in your browser's local storage, which you can clear at any time in your browser settings.
  • You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site keeps working without them.

How we use it

We use your data to:

  • Publish and run your creator page, and review new pages before they go live.
  • Reply to your brand brief or message. We only use brief details to answer that brief.
  • Send you updates about the waitlist you joined. Every email has a way to unsubscribe.
  • Keep the site secure and fix problems.

What we never do

Some things are off the table:

  • We do not sell your personal data.
  • We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.
  • We do not publish a creator page until you submit it and we have reviewed it.
  • We do not publish the email address you claim your page with, unless you also add it to your page as a contact detail.

Your public page is public

A creator page is meant to be found. Once it is published, anyone can see it, and it is listed in our directory, sitemap and llms.txt files so that search engines and AI assistants can read it. Only add contact details you are happy to share publicly.

If you change or remove something, our pages update and our sitemap and llms.txt files follow, usually within a day. Copies that search engines, AI tools or other people already made are outside our control.

Where your data is stored

Waitlist sign-ups, brand briefs and creator pages, including the profile photo, are stored in a database run by Supabase. The site is hosted by Vercel. Usage data is processed by Vercel and Microsoft (Clarity). These providers process data for us and may store it on servers outside the UAE. We share data only with the providers we need to run the site, or when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep waitlist sign-ups until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, and brand briefs for as long as we need them to answer and follow up. We keep your creator page and its data until you delete it or ask us to. Hosting logs are kept for a limited period set by our hosting provider.

Your rights

You can ask us to tell you what data we hold about you, and to correct it, export it, delete it, or stop using it to send you updates. Email hello@socialmediamarketing.ae from the address you used with us, and we aim to reply within 30 days.

Age

socialmediamarketing.ae is meant for people aged 18 and over. If you think someone under 18 has created a page or joined the waitlist, email us and we will remove it.

UAE law

We aim to handle personal data in line with applicable UAE law, including the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL).

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects how we use data you already gave us, we will tell you by email first.
