What to look for

Look past follower counts to where the audience lives. A food creator whose viewers mostly live in Dubai sends people to your tables; one with a mostly overseas audience mainly sends likes. Ask for the share of UAE viewers and for two or three recent restaurant videos with their real view counts, then read the comments to see whether people ask for the location or say they will go.

Typical formats

The usual formats are a hosted visit filmed as one Reel or TikTok plus a few stories, a launch-night appearance, and UGC videos that you run as ads yourself. Agree the posting date up front: a brunch post that lands on a Monday morning does less for you than one that lands before the weekend. Put in writing what is included, how many stories, and whether you may reuse the video in paid ads.

Check the UAE Advertiser Permit

  1. Since 1 February 2026, anyone creating advertising content from inside the UAE needs a UAE Advertiser Permit from the National Media Authority (NMA), paid or unpaid. (Gulf News, 1 Feb 2026)
  2. Gifted products, services and other non-cash benefits count as payment, so barter deals and hosted visits count too. (NMA service card)
  3. Holders must show their permit number on their accounts, and lawyers advise brands to ask for it before paying. (The National, 30 Jul 2025, Pinsent Masons)
  4. Any payment or commercial relationship must be clearly disclosed (Executive Regulations, Art. 33(7)). No hashtag is named: clearly disclose, for example "Ad" or "إعلان" plus the platform's paid-partnership label. (NMA legislation)
  5. Advertising without a permit: a written warning, then AED 20,000, then AED 50,000 (Cabinet Resolution 42/2025, which applies in free zones too). (NMA legislation)
  6. Permit numbers on pages here are self-declared by the creator. We found no public NMA lookup, so ask for the number and write it into your contract. (NMA services, Pinsent Masons)
  7. Ads for food need prior approval from the relevant authority before they run (Art. 33(9)). (NMA legislation)

FAQ

Food creators in Dubai:questions businesses ask

How much does a food influencer cost in Dubai?

Published 2026 agency rate cards for one Instagram post or Reel overlap at about AED 500-1,500 for nano creators (1K-10K followers), AED 2,000-5,000 for micro (10K-100K) and AED 7,000-15,000 for mid-tier (100K-500K). Signed contracts are lower: medians of AED 500, 1,000 and 2,000 in one agency's report on 350 Dubai contracts (Yamammi). In the same report, F&B contracts ran AED 100-800 plus the hosted package (26 contracts). These are indicative ranges, not quotes. Every creator here lists their own rates on their page.

Do Dubai food creators post in exchange for a free meal?

Some smaller creators accept a hosted meal. A hosted meal still counts as payment under the UAE Advertiser Permit rules, so the post must be clearly disclosed and the creator needs a permit. Agree in writing what is included: number of posts and stories, the posting date, and whether you can reuse the video in ads. General information, not legal advice. Confirm on nma.gov.ae.

Which Dubai areas do food creators cover?

Most food creators film across several areas and list a home area on their page. Use the area links on this page to see food creators by area, for example Dubai Marina, JLT or Deira, then check each creator's page for where they usually film.
