The short version

  • A simple UGC video, made for the brand and not posted on the creator's account, costs about AED 700-1,500. An ad-ready video costs about AED 1,500-3,500 (Yamammi).
  • Signed contracts are flatter: Yamammi's contract report puts the UGC rate at a flat AED 800, across 79 contracts.
  • Paid-ad usage adds 30-50% (Yamammi) or 1.5-2x (Tikit). Agree usage, duration and exclusivity in writing before anyone films.

What UGC means in a Dubai brief

UGC (user-generated content) is a video a creator films for a brand to publish on the brand's own channels, usually as an ad, on a product page or on the brand's social accounts. The creator does not post it on their own account. That is the key difference from an influencer post, where the brand pays for the creator's audience as well as the video.

Because the brand buys the video and not the reach, UGC prices depend less on follower count and more on the work: the script, the hooks, the edit and, above all, how the brand may use the result.

Indicative, AED, Oct 2026, one UGC video not posted on the creator's account, excluding paid-usage rights, exclusivity and VAT. Actual fees are set by each creator.

Use the published ranges to price the scope, and the contract rate as a reality check. If a brief asks for ad-ready edits, several hooks and months of paid usage, it is not an AED 800 job. If it asks for one simple clip for organic posting, the lower end is realistic.

What moves a UGC price

  • Paid-ad usage: +30-50% (Yamammi) or 1.5-2x (Tikit) on top of the base fee.
  • Exclusivity: +20-40% for 3 months (Yamammi) or +20-50% (Tikit).
  • Ad-ready editing: captions, music, pacing and a cut for each placement move a video from the simple range to the ad-ready range.
  • Hooks and variations: extra opening hooks and cut-downs are extra deliverables. Price each one.
  • Raw footage: handing over raw files lets the brand make new edits, so treat it as extra usage.
  • Language: an Arabic and an English version are two videos, not one.
  • Speed: rush delivery is extra work. Charge for it.

Usage rights: the line that matters most

Most UGC disputes start with usage. “Organic use” means the brand posts the video on its own accounts. “Paid usage” means it runs the video as an ad, which can put it in front of far more people for months. Write down:

  • Where the video may run: organic posts, paid ads, the website, in-store screens.
  • For how long: for example 3 months, renewable at a set price.
  • Whether the brand may edit it or cut new versions.
  • Whether the creator may show it in their own portfolio.
  • Any exclusivity: which competitors, which category, for how long.

What to put in the brief and the contract

For brands, a clear brief is the cheapest way to get a good video on the first try:

  • The product, the one message that matters, lines that must be said and claims that must not be made.
  • Format: length, aspect ratio, number of hooks, captions on or off, language.
  • Deadline, number of revision rounds and how feedback is sent.
  • Usage, duration and exclusivity, as above.
  • Fee, payment terms and what happens if the brief changes after filming.
  • The creator's UAE Advertiser Permit number.

Do UGC creators need an advertiser permit?

Since 1 February 2026, anyone creating advertising content from inside the UAE needs a UAE Advertiser Permit, paid or unpaid (Gulf News). A UGC ad is advertising content even when the creator never posts it, so plan on the permit applying, and confirm your case with the National Media Authority. Our permit guide covers the requirements.

Brands: ask for the permit number before you pay, and check whether your product needs prior approval. Ads for real estate, medical and health, financial services, education and food need approval from the relevant authority (NMA legislation).
